Blankets to Use and Treasure for a Lifetime

My wife, Kirsten Stockman, died from colon cancer in December of 2013. I have two kids to raise, and I decided to simplify my life by giving up this import business. The good news is, however, that you can still obtain our blankets (while their supply lasts) from Window Panes, a wonderful store in Bar Harbor.

I would like to thank all our customers for their business. We hope you enjoy your blankets!

For cold New England winters, we prefer the warmth and comfort of Bulgarian wool. These decorative throws can be displayed throughout your home - on armchairs and sofas and folded at the foot of family and guest beds.

Young Bulgarian women receive these blankets as part of their dowries. They make wonderful wedding presents!

Textile arts have been a proud part of Bulgaria's culture for over 200 years. Boyan Stoimenov's Rhodope-style blankets are rich and thick, yet the finished weave is soft and light. Boyan's work is unsurpassed anywhere in the world. Read more about our master weaver.

Boyan travels to the mountain villages of Bulgaria to purchase his wool. Flocks are small and family owned. One of our Bulgarian friends said: "These sheep are living almost in paradise." Read more about our Bulgarian wool.

The Bisserov Sisters are a "National Treasure" beloved by Bulgarian music lovers worldwide. Neda Bisserova (bottom left) says: "Thank you to our wonderful American friends for supporting our family-owned blanket business." Links for the Bisserov Sisters.
